AI agent guardrails that the model cannot override

AI agent guardrails are limits on what an agent may do — how much it can spend, which tools it can use, and when a human must approve. On Maqron they are enforced by the database, not by the model's instructions.

Why prompt-only guardrails fail

A rule written into a prompt ("never spend more than $20") is a request, not a control. Models can misread it, be manipulated by input, or simply make a mistake. A real guardrail must sit outside the model and reject the action itself.
